		About Avicenna (Ibn Sina)  
																	
		Born in Afšana, a village near Bukhara, 
		Uzbekistan, Ibn Sina (980-1037), widely known as Avicenna, was a famous 
		Persian polymath (meaning he was an expert in a variety of different 
		fields). He is considered to be one of the most consequential thinkers, 
		physicians, writers, and astronomers of the ‘Islamic Golden Age.'
